What do you mean you don't need a croissant toaster?

The most delicious gifts to receive are often those we wouldn’t give ourselves.

Expensive hand cream that you lather on in duty free, but can’t justify in the weekly shop… Check.

Coffee table books so beautiful you need to stroke their pages before reading them… Check.

Croissant toaster… Yes, you read that right – croissant toaster. You mean you don’t think you need or want one? Think again!

This wirework design, from the wonderful RE, is based on a traditional French design.

Now the French know a thing – or four – about food, so if they think toasting croissants over an open fire or BBQ is a good thing, then who are we to argue?

It works for bread too. Which means it is officially a multi-purpose object. Nuff said.

R.E… Two large metal letters found in a Paris flea market. They inspired the name and the ethos of the RE brand, founded by former fashion designers Jenny Vaughan and Simon Young.

The RE look focuses on ‘found objects’ and global design trends. The range is sold from their store in Corbridge, Northumberland and their website.

Products are sourced from around the world and designed in-house. RE is my go-to store for inspiration, gifts and the finishing touches that make decorative schemes standout.

Toasted croissant anyone?
